Welcome to the 2014-15 School Year!
This year, our class blog, SYNERGY, will be continuing. The definition of synergy is two or more things working
together in order to create something that is bigger or greater than the
sum of their individual efforts. Throughout the school year, our class
will be working together, understanding that through cooperation, we can
accomplish anything we set our minds on!
As in the previous year, the students will be preparing text and images to share with parents and friends who wish to explore our blog. You are encouraged to comment on our postings.
All work on this site is for your enjoyment and is not for assessment or evaluation purposes.
The students will be encouraged to compose items to stand alone or to accompany a photograph or a piece of personal artwork.
The new school year will begin with a focus on building a community of cooperative and respectful citizens, caring for our environment, our bodies and other people and animals that we share our earth with.
Look for our postings beginning September 15th!

GPS Fun at Gould Lake Conservation Area!
R O P E S
Dan used hula hoops to help him explain how the
GPS system works because
in my opinion there is only a limited
space that you can get GPS service. Each tower that holds GPS power for cars,
military, (etc.) can only go so far.
Dan told us that he only
used hula hoops proportionally because they are
like a smaller version of the real towers. The GPS
tower sends out signals that make the GPS always know where you are and where
you want to go. Dan
helped us understand the meaning of GPS towers better with hula hoops than if
there were no hula hoops.

The failed Quest Back To Planet Earth
One day, a leprechaun with a
pimple on his neck, and a boxer from Kentucky, that had a mole on his nose, and
one eye, went out on a honeymoon to Mars. They stole a giant Rocket ship with a
red point on the top to get to Mars. They forced the people on board of the Rocket
ship to take them to Mars, or else they would put them in the engine. So they
took the leprechaun and the boxer to Mars, for their honey moon. They got to Mars
and had their honey moon. Once they were done their honey moon they decided that
they wanted to swim back to Earth. When they started swimming back to Earth, an
alien ship that was shaped like a saucer came and kidnapped them, and brought
them back to Mars. The aliens left them tied up in the rope that they got
kidnapped in. The boxer and the leprechaun fought to get
the rope
off. After two days they finally got it off by
chewing it. After walking on Mars for another two days looking for their rocket
ship they started to starve. After one more day of looking for the rocket ship
they finally found it. The people that they forced to take them
up
to Mars had
died. So they had to figure out how to run it, but first they had to find out
how to get the chain off of the rocket ship. They found a dead body in a corner
that was enclosed. The person had a gold key in their back pocket. The
leprechaun and the boxer did “Rock, Paper, Scissors” to see who had to grab it.
The boxer lost and he had to grab the gold key. After they unlocked the chain
they found some instructions to the rocket, but they didn’t follow them. When
they tried to land back on Earth they crashed and died. When they got buried
the grave stone said “P.S we haven’t had a good honey
moon yet.”

Alien, Boxer, and Pirate Are Enemies
In space there was a boxer bunny fighting a slimy alien and boxer
bunny was winning because they were enemies. They had a problem. The green
funny alien lost in a game of soccer. This alien doesn't like to lose so the
Alien punched the boxer through the wrestling ring. The mean Pirate saw them
fighting, and then the pirate broke the fight up. The pirate with a big lumpy
nose took them to his pirate spaceship, walked them down the plank and then
they started to float to Pluto. They got lost in Pluto so they flew away to
Jupiter.
