Kevin Reed Part One

Stuck in a Rock

It was a cold Wednesday afternoon, and our class was playing a game of camouflage. We were hiding when a scream filled the air... "I'm stuck!" Soon, everybody was rushing towards Adam, who kept on yelling "I'm stuck! I'm stuck!" Fin handed a stick down to Adam who grabbed on and pulled himself out.

Kevin Reed Visits Our Classroom!

Kevin Reed is someone who teaches kids like me about First Nations Peoples. (Stella)
Kevin Reed taught us about the Blanket Activity. It was so fun. (Nick)
He told us the story of how Aboriginal Peoples and Europeans met and took over some of the Aboriginal Peoples' land. (Alexis, Neko, and Olivia)
He also taught us some words in Ojibwe, Mohawk and Inuit languages. (Ashley K)
I learned that life was very hard during the time when the Europeans took the land from the Aboriginal Peoples. (Julie)
Our Blanket Activity Circle. We are pointing East!

Our Blog Begins With Eco-Print!

Our class blog is called SYNERGY. The definition of synergy is two or more things working together in order to create something that is bigger or greater than the sum of their individual efforts. Throughout the school year, our class will be working together, understanding that through cooperation, we can accomplish anything we set our minds on!

As the year progresses, the students will be preparing text and images to share with parents and friends who wish to explore our blog. You are encouraged to comment on our postings. However, you need a gmail account to do so.

All work on this site is for your enjoyment and is not for assessment or evaluation purposes.

The students will be encouraged to compose items to stand alone or to accompany a photograph or a piece of personal artwork.

ECO PRINT!

Four students from Queen's University came into our classroom and taught us about what an "Ecological Footprint" is! (Ashley K)
Our Learning Goal

We were learning what our class ecological footprint could be

Everyone should have a goal to shrink their ecological footprint! (Stella)
For example, if you don't have a dual flush toilet, get one! You can do your part to save the earth! (Nick)
Check out your ecological footprint today! Go online to the website below: (But ask your parents first!)
