Waste Free Lunch Challenge!

The Waste-Free Lunch Challenge is an elementary school program designed to challenge students across Ontario to go waste-free for a whole week as part of Waste Reduction Week in Canada (October 20-26, 2014). The program is part of a number of initiatives developed by the Recycling Council of Ontario.

The goal of the program is to help schools decrease the amount of garbage they produce and to educate students, staff and parents about waste reduction. School lunches are a major source of waste in Ontario. This year over 118,000 students took part, and 10,000 kg of waste was diverted from landfill.

Hot Springs in Mexico!

                      HOT SPRINGS

Hot springs occur when water seeps into the earth and is heated by magma.  When it comes to the surface again, it is hot.  There are different types of hot springs, depending on the mineral that’s in the water.  Hot springs can have healing effects.  If the hot springs pools are not treated, there can be many kinds of bacteria that grow in the warm water.  In Mexico there are many hot springs that are not on the map.  The one we went to is called Jamurca, in Las Varas. The road was rough but it worth it.  The smallest pool was the hottest because it was the closest to the bubbling water.   And these are some pictures my mom took of us!  I loved it.

Spoken Word Poetry- Growth Mindset

Growth Mindset

It might just be a little voice at the end of a day saying I will try again tomorrow

Or the thought of something being better, greater than anything before

So when you even think for a fraction of a second to give up, push that thought out of the way and

Think the thought keep going, I got this!

Even when you see all of the air coming out of a balloon keep blowing it back up again

Your bicycle is not moving but just keep peddling

Cause guess what, eventually that balloon will be bigger than one has ever been before

And your bicycle will be going faster than one has ever gone before.

People will say GIVE UP

People will say YOU CAN’T

But who cares!  Don’t let those words get into your mind until you have changed them to KEEP TRYING  and YOU CAN

Because no matter what anyone else is this entire universe thinks or says

It’s your choice if you believe them

When things get tough just throw on that pair of wings and glide right through them

Because I believe in every single one of you, I believe that every single one of you will do great things.  I believe you can all make a difference!

But that’s just my opinion!  Now it’s your turn to Believe.

Don’t let failure be the end.  Make it the beginning.

Because Mistakes are just proof that you’re trying.
